About the Program
Our Passion for Baseball
The New England Lobsters were founded with one mission: provide high-quality, competitive travel baseball while helping every player develop their skills and love for the game. What started as a single team has grown into a full-scale organization fielding teams from 9U through 18U across New England.
Over the years, we have grown to 11 teams, competed in premier tournaments across the region, sent players to Cooperstown, and created lifelong memories for hundreds of kids across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and beyond.
Our 16U, 17U, and 18U showcase teams are built for maximum college recruiting exposure, competing at Perfect Game and PBR events where college coaches attend in force. We have sent over 40 players on to play college baseball at programs ranging from Division I down through the NAIA.
At the Lobsters, success is not just measured in wins. It is about building character, developing a love for the game, and helping every player grow both on and off the field. Join us, where talent meets passion and dreams take flight on the diamond.

What is GameChanger?
GameChanger is the most widely used team management and live scoring app in youth baseball. Most travel teams already use it to track games, communicate with families, and stream live. When integrated with a website, the schedule updates automatically whenever a coach makes a change in the app — no website editing required.

Recommendation: Use GameChanger as the primary schedule integration for day-to-day game management (coaches update in real time, parents see it on the website immediately). Link to the team's Perfect Game profile separately for college coaches and recruiting visibility. Both serve different purposes and can coexist.
GAMECHANGER
In production, the Lobsters' live GameChanger schedule would appear embedded here — showing all upcoming games, scores for completed games, and allowing fans to click through to live game streams.
This requires connecting the Lobsters' GameChanger team account. Once connected, no manual schedule updates are needed on the website ever again.

Joe Barber
Program Director / Head Coach
Specializes in infield fundamentals and program development. Played Division I at UMass Amherst, three seasons in the Dodgers system. NE Travel Baseball Coach of the Year 2023. Founded the program in 2019, 40+ college commits to date.
Kari DeRenzi
Pitching Coach
Specializes in mechanics, arm care, and velocity development. Former pitcher at Sacred Heart University. Driveline Baseball certified. Six pitchers developed into collegiate starters including two Division I. With the program since 2021.
Carter Phelps
Hitting Coach
Specializes in swing mechanics, plate discipline, and exit velocity. Former outfielder at Bryant University. Private hitting facility in Boston. Two current Division I starters among his former players. With the Lobsters since 2020.
Dusty Mendes
Fielding / Defense
Specializes in footwork, first-step reads, and outfield routes. Former shortstop at Holy Cross. Regarded as one of the best defensive coaches in NE travel ball. Three players earned All-Region defensive honors at the college level. With the program since 2022.
Alumni Commitments
40+ Lobsters alumni have gone on to play college baseball across Division I, II, III, and the NAIA.

Tryout Dates
June 28 (9U–12U) and June 29 (13U–18U). Exact times sent to registered players by email 2 weeks prior.
Location
Greater Boston area. Exact field address confirmed and emailed to all registered players 2 weeks before their date.

A $35 fee is collected at registration via secure payment. This covers field rental and evaluation materials.
